Spirit trumpets were hollow cones, often made of metal or papier-mâché, used during darkened séances. Mediums claimed the trumpets amplified spirit voices or moved independently as evidence of spirit presence. Their dramatic movement and sound made them a popular feature of physical mediumship demonstrations.
